Bio Artist Statement Gallery

I had often carried a small camera with me while growing up in Southern California. Like most, I started with snapshots of friends, family, pets, plants, vacations and various other occasions. Soon I had boxes of out of focus photos and infinite pictures of headless relatives. Encouraged by my family, soon my pictures were in better focus and held more interest. Because my parents taught me to find the extraordinary in the simple every day things, I was soon looking for the out-of-ordinary to photograph.

Somewhere, along the course of life I had put my camera down and did not pick it up for several years. My interests have been incredibly varied but my fondness has always been for my family, my dogs, and photography. When I started Scuba diving I was instantly drawn to photograph underwater for my non-diving friends. I bought a little underwater disc camera and re-kindled my long passion for photography. I have carried a camera since then, but mostly on dry land.

My career as a Telecommunications Business Analyst has provided me an excellent opportunity to travel many parts of the world, including four continents. This has provided some interesting photo opportunities.

No matter where I travel, I am always eager to return home to the quiet life with my wonderful husband and my four dogs on our small ranch in the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

I have been blessed with a wonderful family and devoted friends and I hope to honor them with my art.
