It was once a magnificent structure.  The majestic lodgepole pine has finally succumbed to age and the elements.  In its final repose on the forest floor it still presents the grandeur that celebrates its life in  the forest community.  Its knurls, twists, and battle scars are emphasized in the polished gray finish  it now shows. Before long it will blend entirely into the soft humus of mother earth and thereby give back its elements for the life of its offspring.
