The exibit in the Neuberger Gallery
Image City partners Dick Bennett and Gil Maker worked with 11 Veterans over a period of 10 weeks learning about photography in the classroom and creating photos in the field. For some Vets, this was the first time they had spent time considering the different aspects of generating an image in the camera and thinking carefully about a desired outcome. For others, this was an opportunity to sharpen their skills and become reacquainted with photography. Each veteran contributed 3 photos to the exhibit. United States Veteran Center staff Amy Rodrigues, PhD and Kim Schmidt, PhD, LMFT assisted in the classes. The Josephine Herrick Project in New York City, a non-profit that works with veterans, the Rochester Vet Center, the New York Council on the Arts, Canon and the Munzer Foundation, supports the exhibit.
